Just here after...</title><content type='html'>Not a regular reader of your blog. Just here after researching some obscure Alan Moore oddness. Can&amp;#39;t quite believe the ABC books are a decade old.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;With regard to Snyder&amp;#39;s approach to Watchmen, I agree with some of the things you said. I&amp;#39;d stop short of saying this was a great adaptation in any way. I believe that a good adaptation has to live on its own merits. I just didn&amp;#39;t find the film providing anything that made sense on its own. I tried to view it as though I had never read the books and couldn&amp;#39;t find a reason for it beyond eye candy. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It seemed to me that Snyder&amp;#39;s direction was too on-the-nose. My big complaint as a fan is that he never pulled back enough to let the audience make up their own mind. Consider the music cues when Veidt is introduced. The score at that point tells everyone in the audience that they&amp;#39;re being snookered. Maybe it&amp;#39;s just me, but I would rather have had my doubts about him.
